The Forum came into being in 1996 and has since evolved from its small beginings where members came together from the local community to have somewhere to bring younger members of the family and support each other tackling local issues.
Maureen Whitehouse & Linda Paskin where here from the very beginning working with others from their local community to develop services to meet the needs of the local community by working in partnership with local schools & council officers they applied for charitable status in 1998, after a lengthy period they were succsessful and a team of people worked together to secure lottery funding in 2001 this is when young peoples services was given a boost & the forum was able to secure funding for paid workers to come on board & work together with community members & volunteers to develop new services.
The forum has gone from strength to strength now serving a wide cross section of the communit from 5-87 at present. Karen Tittley development officer works closley with the managment team to develop services to meet the needs of the local community and has recently secured further funding from the Big Lottery and Children in Need to support there extensive activity programmes for a further 3 years.
